Meet Our Family Liaisons
College Crusade Family Liaisons are our local representatives in the communities where our students live. Family Liaisons meet together regularly to share ideas and to give feedback to our staff. They provide families of Crusaders with information about our programs, help run our Family Academy workshops, and keep parents informed about the many college-readiness activities that are available to them as members of our organization.
Geraldine Barclay-King
“For many years as a single parent, it was challenging for me to juggle work, school, parenting and still be able to provide my child with the much needed education awareness. The College Crusade of RI came to the rescue by providing college access to families in need of an education outlet. My daughter has been in the program now for five years, and we are grateful for the opportunity of being exposed to many enrichment avenues that prepare her for social and personal development in addition to career and postsecondary preparation.”
Geraldine’s daughter is a Crusader who attends school in Woonsocket.
Rochanda Delves-Johnson
“I wanted to become a family liaison for The College Crusade because I wanted to help parents become better aware of the many programs and workshops offered to students and their families.”
Rochanda’s son is a Crusader who attends high school in North Providence.
Jenny Garcia
“Being a Family Liaison is important to me because my son is a Crusader and I wanted to get more involved. I want to help other parents to understand how important and helpful The College Crusade is for young people.”
Jenny’s son is a Crusader who attends school in Providence.
Alfredo Nunez
“The College Crusade is an excellent program for the kids. In this fast pace of the 21st century world, our children need the right advice for their future: education is the key for success! That’s the reason why I chose to participate in The College Crusade.”
Alfredo’s daughter is a Crusader who attends school in Providence.
Juana Polanco
“I am very happy to be a Family Liaison. It’s important to me because it gives me the opportunity to be more helpful to my children and especially to other children. I am grateful to The College Crusade because my daughter finished high school thanks to this wonderful program.”
Juana’s daughter is a Crusade alumnae who graduated from high school in Providence.
Enma Velasquez
“I am so happy that my children have the opportunity to participate in College Crusade programs. They feel more confident in their school work, and in approaching any difficult subject. They feel they have the support not only from me, as their parent, but also from their Advisor and from The College Crusade, for which I will always be grateful.”
Enma’s son and daughter are high school Crusaders who attend school in Pawtucket.
