College Crusade Advisors are at the heart of our services to students. They develop relationships with Crusaders, guide them in academic decisions, social development, and career exploration, and help them get ready for college.

Blackstone Academy
Tanzeem Ajmiri is a recent graduate of the University of Rhode Island’s Talent Development Program. She has a B.A in Political Science, Sociology, and African American Studies. She was previously employed at Youth In Action as a non-violence coordinator and is currently employed at The United Way of Rhode Island as an assistant case manager.

DelSesto Middle School
Ama graduated from Classical High School in 2005. She earned a B.S. in Biology from the University of Rhode Island in 2009. During her senior year of college, she was a science mentor in the Providence schools. She also served for two years as a Residential Assistant at URI.

Javier graduated from Central High School in 2003. He was awarded a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of Rhode Island in 2009. Before joining the Crusade, Javier worked as a Customer Service & Sales Representative for Bank of America.

Dwayne Clement
Mount Pleasant High School
Dwayne graduated from Central High School in 1997. He went on to attend Rhode Island College and graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology.

Christopher Grant

E-Cubed Academy
Christopher Grant graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 2008 with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Human Development and Family Studies. Christopher has worked at Bradley Hospital as a milieu therapist while also volunteering as a research assistant for the Brown Center for the Study of Children at Risk in Providence.

Stephen graduated from Cranston East High School in 1998. He then entered the University of Rhode Island, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology in 2002. Before joining the Crusade, he worked as a case manager.

Mayamu Kamara

Times2 Academy
Originally from Liberia, Mayamu graduated from Shea High School and then from the University of Rhode Island, where she earned a degree in Communications and Art and minored in Business. She has been employed at Walt Disney World, URI’s Ram’s Den, and Rehabilitations Resource, Inc. Most recently she was a Youth Director for St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. Maya’s long-term goal is to work for the United Nations, helping to develop Africa.

Shelby Maldonado, a former Crusader, graduated from Central Falls High School in 2006. She then attended the University of
Rhode Island, earning a B.A. in Political Science and Communication Studies in 2009. She has worked as a Youth Staff Coordinator for Channel One in Central Falls.

Harry Moore III

Harry, a former Crusader and Rhode Island native, graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 2004. He then attended the University of
Rhode Island, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Human Development
and Family Studies in 2008. He has worked as a Site Director at the Darlington
YMCA of Pawtucket and as a Behavioral Therapist at the Wrentham
Development Center. He also served as Literacy Facilitator at the Family YMCA
of Pawtucket and a Study Skills Instructor for The College Crusade.

Kristina graduated from St. Mary Academy Bay View in 2005. She earned a B.A. in Psychology & Women's Studies from the University of Rhode Island in 2009. She was a Residential Counselor for URI's Talent Development program and also worked as Supervisor for URI's Academic Enhancement Center.

Richlieu “Rich” A. Norris
Gilbert Stuart Middle School
Rich Norris graduated from Feinstein High School in 2005. He then attended the University of Rhode Island, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education and History in 2009. While at URI, he served as a Resident Assistant. Prior to joining the Crusade, he was employed as a Behavior Specialist for Perspectives Corporation.

Benjamin is a former Crusader who graduated from Central High School in 2001. He then attended the University of Rhode Island, where he earned a B.A. in Sociology and Communications in 2008.

Jessica graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. Before joining the Crusade, she was employed at Nickerson Community Center as Program Coordinator for a Workforce Program.

Stephanie is a former Crusader who graduated from Classical High School in 2003. She then attended the University of Rhode Island, graduating in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Disorders and a minor in Human Development and Family Studies.

Woonsocket High School
Ralph, a former Crusader, graduated from Central High School in 2003. He attended the University of Rhode Island, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Textile, Merchandising & Design in 2007. Ralph has served as an intern at the McGrath Judicial Complex Adult Parole and Probation Department. Previously he worked for the Crusade as an instructor in the Ways to A’s summer study-skills program.

Hope High School
Kalomo earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Rhode Island College. He has been part of the AmeriCorps LEAP program and has worked at the Providence Center of Psychiatric Services.
