Michaela Bileau ’04 Michaela Bileau ’04 (Woonsocket High School) graduated from Rhode Island College with a double major in Psychology, Chemical Dependency and Addiction Studies in 2008. Michaela is currently enrolled in graduate school at the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth, studying Clinical Psychology with a focus on Behavior. She is employed as a graduate assistant at UMass Dartmouth, where she works with students who have learning disabilities as well as in the department of Student Conduct and Dispute Resolution. She is also employed part time as a Milieu Therapist for Bradley Hospital in Rhode Island, where she works with children diagnosed with autism, an assignment she finds both challenging and rewarding.
“I must pay gratitude to Christine Banks, the Crusade Advisor at Woonsocket High School, who gave me the opportunity to get involved,” says Michaela. “I participated in a mentoring program where I met extremely interesting people and learned a great deal, not only regarding effective communication with others, but I gained a genuine appreciation for the rewards and benefits of a mentoring program. The rewarding feeling I gained through my experience as a Crusader encouraged me to get involved in similar programs in my community and to participate in college groups,” she adds.
During her undergraduate years, Michaela took on leadership roles as an officer for the Rhode Island College Psychological Society and for RIC’s local chapter of Psi Chi, the national Honor Society in Psychology. She believes in getting involved. “I participated in research conferences, joined with community members to support food and clothing drives, and provided academic support to fellow psychology students," she says. "I left Rhode Island College with invaluable experiences and lifelong friendships.”
Michaela is an active soccer player. She is also currently a member of the UMass Dartmouth Campus Alcohol Committee, which aims to better understand the challenges of alcohol abuse and underage consumption. “It is important to me to contribute to initiatives that help students become responsible members of our community,” she says.

Wynston Wilson ’03 Wynston Wilson ’03 (The Metropolitan Regional Technical and Career Center) graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 2008 with a B.A. in Communication Studies. He is currently enrolled in URI’s graduate program in Communication Studies, with a concentration in Interpersonal Communication. Wynston is also employed at URI as a Graduate Student Instructor and researcher, teaching two sections of introductory COM 100.
Wynston has a strong appreciation for The College Crusade. “The Crusade did an exceptional job of keeping me abreast of the opportunities available to me and financially supporting me throughout my early college years,” he says. During college, he also made a connection with fellow Crusader and former College Crusader Advisor Robert Britto-Oliveria, who served as an academic and financial advisor to him.
Wynston’s advice to high school Crusaders who are just starting college is “to take complete control of their education and take advantage of every beneficial opportunity that comes their way. The transition from high school to college can be challenging,” he says. “However, this is the time to adapt to this change and do your best because it sets the foundation for the following years to come. College was the best thing to ever happen to me because it diminished my ignorance on so many levels by surrounding me with vast amounts of knowledge. It has allowed me to apply what I’ve learned in college to give back to others. Also, it has provided me the opportunity to specialize in a field that I am passionate about.”
In his free time, Wynston enjoys traveling, listening to Liberian music, and networking. He has a special interest in creating a scholarship foundation and literacy program for high school students in the Providence school system through a brotherhood that he and a group of college friends created.
